Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 2026
Our commitment
Hologram is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all students, educators, and administrators, including those with disabilities. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance across all student-facing and teacher-facing interfaces.
Accessibility is not an afterthought for us — it is a design requirement. K-12 classrooms include students with a wide range of disabilities, and every student deserves full access to their education.
Standards target
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). Our specific commitments:
- 4.5:1 contrast ratio minimum for all text against backgrounds
- Full keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable and operable via keyboard
- Screen reader support — tested with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and ChromeVox
- Skip-to-content links on all pages
- Proper heading hierarchy — logical h1→h2→h3 structure on all pages
- Labels on all form inputs with associated error messages via aria-describedby
- Reduced motion support — all animations respect prefers-reduced-motion
- Focus indicators — visible focus rings on all interactive elements
- No color-only status indicators — icons and text always accompany color
K-12 specific considerations
We design for the realities of K-12 classrooms:
- Chromebook-first testing — we test with ChromeVox and Select-to-Speak on Chromebook hardware
- Dyslexia-friendly typography — line height 1.5+, no justified text, adequate letter spacing
- Extended time support — assessment time extensions are configurable per student IEP/504 plan
- Reading level — interface copy targets 6th grade readability for student-facing UI
- Touch targets — minimum 44×44px on all interactive elements (75px for K-5 student interfaces)
Known limitations
We are actively working toward full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. During our pilot phase, some features may not yet meet all criteria. We prioritize accessibility issues from pilot participants.
